Nail clippers with safety guard, stainless steel

For dogs who pull their paw away at the sight of clippers: nails at the right length without blood, cutting only up to the guard within the Nails Routine.

Trimming nails at home is finally possible without the quick being cut, without the loud snap or without needing to hold the paw extra tight.

Cuidar: the clippers supply the guarded tool that replaces unsafe cutting inside the nail protocol of Protocolo PerroAmante.

  • You cut to an exact length: the adjustable guard limits how far the blade travels, so you decide the length before you squeeze and never overshoot.
  • One clean cut instead of two: the stainless steel blade goes through the nail in a single pass, so your dog never feels the tug of a split nail.
  • A firm grip with wet hands: the rubber handle and return spring let you work one-handed while you hold the paw.
  • Less discomfort when standing: keeping the right length at home stops the nail curving and changing how your dog puts weight on the paw.

Keep the clippers closed and out of your dog reach, and check the edge before each use so it cuts the nail instead of crushing it.

What it is and what it is not

For medium and large dogs whose nails do not wear down enough on pavement, and for owners who have stopped trimming out of fear of going too far.

The stainless steel blade cuts in one pass without splitting the nail, and the adjustable guard limits how far the blade travels: you set the length before you squeeze and repeat the same cut on all four paws. You notice it because the dog no longer flinches from a half-broken nail.

It does not work well on the very thick black nails of giant breeds, where a grinder does a better job, and it does not save you from looking for where the pink part begins. It is also not for ingrown dewclaws or already broken nails: your vet should look at those.

Non-slip rubber handle, return spring and a small lock so it stays closed in the drawer.

Chosen for the safety guard, which is the real difference from generic models, and for the finish of the steel.

How to use

  1. Put your dog on the floor or in your lap and hold the paw in your palm with the toe in view.
  2. Set the guard to the length you want to leave and start on a pale nail, where you can see where the pink part begins.
  3. Cut in one firm movement, square to the nail, then release the paw for a few seconds before you carry on.
  4. Smooth the edge with the file if it feels rough and finish with a treat.

Every three or four weeks, or whenever you hear the nails on the floor.

Why it is at PerroAmante

It passed our internal 7-criteria score (problem fit, quality, honest margin, differentiation, compliance, logistics and repeat value) and we keep its safety and compliance documentation on file.

Who it is for

  • Medium and large dogs whose nails do not wear on pavement
  • Owners who have stopped trimming out of fear
  • Homes that want one tool for all four paws

Who it is not for

  • Giant breeds with very thick black nails
  • Owners dealing with already broken or ingrown nails

The usual way

What you have tried and why it does not last

  • Ordinary clippers without guard

You squeeze and hope; the dog flinches at the half-broken nail and you lose confidence.

  • Letting the nail grow until it clicks on the floor

You wait until the stance changes before acting, then face a longer recovery.

  • Paying the groomer every three weeks

You spend 35–60 € each time and still cannot shorten between appointments.

The PerroAmante way

Take off exactly the right length with the guard fitted, without fearing the pink part.

Frequently asked questions

Is it worth the price?

One guarded clipper replaces repeated groomer visits and lasts years, so the cost per trim drops quickly.

Will it work on my dog?

The adjustable guard lets you set the length before you cut, so most dogs stop flinching once they feel the same result every time.

Should I ask the vet first?

The clippers are for routine maintenance; the page already states when split or ingrown nails need professional attention.

Where is it made and is the quality real?

European steel with published conformity documents; every unit is checked before shipping from Barcelona.

The expensive alternative

A groomer visit for nail trimming in Spain costs 35–60 € every three weeks; these clippers at 16,90 € let you maintain the length at home.

90 days. If you do not notice the difference, we refund you.

El tope da confianza

Mi mestizo de 2 años tiene uñas negras y nunca sé dónde está la vena. El tope ayuda a no pasarse, aunque hay que retirarlo en las uñas más grandes.
